ELIGIBILITY
ELIGIBILITY AND ADMISSION PROCEDURE IN THE INSTITUTE
Coaching for UPSC Civil Services Examination in All India Civil Services Coaching Centre is given to candidates from Tamil Nadu through an entrance examination conducted in the month of November.
I. ELIGIBILITY
a)The candidate must hold a degree of any recognized university.
b) Age Limit(as on 1st August):
Minimum: 21 years for all candidates
Maximum: 32 years
The upper age limit prescribed above will be relaxable:
i) Upto a maximum of Five years if a candidate belongs to SC/ST/SC(A) Upto a maximum of Three years in the case of candidates belonging to to BC/BC(M)/MBC/DNC
ii) Upto a maximum of Ten years in the case of blind, deaf-mute and Orthopaedically handicapped persons.(General Category)
2) The number of seats allotted for the different categories for Full time(Residential) and Part time (Non-Residential) are as below:

II. Admission Procedure
A) Preliminary Coaching
Advertisement for the entrance examination is published in leading dailies in the month of July /August/September every year. Applications (ICR format) are distributed through District Backward Classes and Minorities Welfare Office at District Collectorates.

Eligible candidates will have to appear for a Competitive Entrance Examination conducted throughout Tamil Nadu for two hours containing Objective questions (100 questions) on History of India and Indian National Movement, Indian and World Geography, Indian Polity and Governance, Economic and Social Development, General Science, Current Events and General issues on Environmental Ecology, Bio-diversity and Climate change. Based on merit and Community Reservation system, 225 candidates will be admitted for Residential coaching and 100 candidates for part time coaching. The following certificates have to be submitted during the time of admission:

1. Any Degree Certificate
2. Community Certificate
3. Nativity Certificate
4. Passport Size photos, 1 Stamp Size Photos
5. Refundable caution deposit
B) Main Coaching
Candidates from Tamil Nadu, who have qualified in the UPSC Preliminary examination are admitted for Main Examination Coaching(225 candidates). Applications for the Main Coaching are issued at All India Civil Services Coaching Centre, Chennai, on the following day of the Preliminary Examination Results. The selection list of candidates for Main Coaching is announced within a week. Admission for main coaching is open to all the candidates from Tamil Nadu who have qualified in the UPSC Preliminary examination.
A Monthly stipend of RS.3000 /- for three months is given to the candidates admitted for Main Coaching , irrespective of income celling .
C) Model Personality Test
The Institute conducts Model Personality Test for the candidates who have qualified in UPSC Main Examination. Model Personality Test sessions are arranged within a week or two. Besides Model Personality Test sessions, National /International issues are also taken up for discussion by experienced IAS, IPS, IRS officers and eminent academicians.
Accomadation is arranged at Tamilnadu House, New Delhi by the Government of Tamilnadu to those candidates who have attended the Model Personality Test at All India Civil Services Coaching Centre. Travelling allowance of Rs. 2000/- is also provided to the candidates to attend the Personality Test at New Delhi.
